Comfortable Recliner Nothing like a Fireplace and a Comfy Recliner Even though Southern weather can't seem to make its mind up about what season it wants to be, we still haven't even made it to winter. Technically, the season begins in the Northern Hemisphere on December 21st. The Winter Solstice happens when the earth's tilt is farthest from the sun during its yearly trip. It happens twice a year; once for each pole. This means two things; this will be the day that has the least amount of sunlight and that the daylight hours will continue to grow until the Summer Solstice. I know that this day is technically the astronomical first day of winter and other parts of the world will be experiencing more severe winter weather. But down here in the south, it can be interesting to watch the weather flip back and forth from mild to cold. I guess if you don't like the weather, you can just wait a few days until it changes.
