Sectional Sofa Sectional Couches and Other Types of Sofas What comes to mind when you think of a sectional sofa? Do you think about how big they are and that they take up too much room? Your typical L-shaped sectional sofa is designed to be placed in a corner. For some living rooms, this is definitely the optional place for a couch like that.

New Ovens: Baking Made Easier

Samsung Oven New Ovens for Sale: Baking Made Easier Ovens are such a blessing. I know I take mine for granted even though I use it almost every day. From baking chicken nuggets for the kiddos to roasting a turkey for Thanksgiving dinner, the oven in my house sees a lot of action. If you are like me and you cook a lot, it becomes painfully apparent how much you rely on an oven or range when yours is not working correctly.  I used to have a counter stovetop and slide-in oven setup that was from the 70s. While it was smaller than I would have liked it to be, my kitchen was easy enough to cook for my growing family. However, one day the baking element burned out in my oven. I could not find a replacement element. However, I could still use the broiler and cook some of the things I wanted to cook. But it was quickly becoming a nuisance to feed my girls and me. It became a problem that got out of hand due to my poor planning. I started eating out more often because of the irrita

Exploring the History of the Loveseat

Loveseat, baby, Loveseat Exploring the History of the Loveseat When you hear anything with love in the name, you are going to assume the item in question has a lot to do with amorous activity, right? Things like love stories, love motels,  The Love Boat,  or even love potions all have to do with people expressing their affections. So, it would be pretty obvious to assume that the loveseat was invented to bring people closer together. However, contrary to the namesake, the loveseat's origins aren't steeped in any romantic history.  Loveseat is Just a Wide Seat No one really knows who invented the loveseat, however, during the 18th century, wider seats became much more popular. They weren't designed for two people to sit side by side closely, but more for the ladies of the time to have a place to sit that would accommodate their ridiculously wide gowns and dresses they would wear. Over time, the dress fashions became much slimmer and the need for an oversized cha

Post Football Season and Your Living Room

Image
Post-Football Season and Your Living Room The Super Bowl has come and gone and whether your team was playing, chances are you watched the game and maybe hosted a party. If you did host a party, was it a big success? If not then you may ask yourself why. I know there may be several reasons why a get-together can go south, but sometimes it is because there is a lack of room for people to sit. Whether you are just having a board game night or it's the Super Bowl, you want everyone to feel comfortable. If the atmosphere seems cramped, people might start looking for excuses to leave early and find a place that is more comfortable. Perhaps you didn't even host a party because you know you don't have the seats to have very many people over to your place. Maybe it's time to think about getting a bigger couch or figuring out some other way to add places to sit. When it comes to the living room or the den, you have to think about the flow of the room. If it is hard for p

How to Pick Furniture and Arrange a Small Living Room

How to Pick Furniture and Arrange a Small Living Room Your living room is probably the most used one in the house. This statement probably rings truer when talking about the guests that visit your home. Even if it isn't the most used room, it probably is a close second. In today's world, space seems to be getting harder and harder to find. As the populations of cities grow, if people want to find roomier homes, they may have to go outside the city limits to find that wide-open space. If you are like me and you have a smaller living room, and you really aren't that interested in buying a new house, there are a few things you can do besides tearing down walls to make your space feel bigger.  Living Room Furniture Types The main focus of most living rooms is going to revolve around the couch. If you have a smaller living room, then it doesn't make much sense to have a giant sofa. Picking a placing a lovely mid-sized sofa in your living room is the best place

"Furniture for Sale Near Me"

Image
The Search for A Furniture Store We have all typed it out the phrase on our phone or computer "_______ for sale near me". I know that cellphones have been around for a while but I still am amazed that each one of us walks around with a little GPS in our hands or pockets. I recently typed out "pizza near me" while I was toting my nephew around in an unfamiliar city. In this day and age where our options are seemingly unlimited, it is easy to get overwhelmed by how much information is out there. Since our phones track our locations, the world is so much smaller than it once was. I know this will date myself, but I remember back when if you needed to find something in an unfamiliar area, you had to ask the assistance of a local person. My nephew was astounded when I brought it up that I was born before the internet.  While it is all well and good that the world seems easier to navigate, I do feel like certain skills are severely lacking in this day and age.
