What do You Have Planned for Spring?

Do you make any plans for spring? Since winter has us cooped up indoors most of the time, spring and the resulting milder weather comes as a relief to most of us. You may be looking forward to spring break and a vacation or you may just be looking forward to getting out of the house more often. You may even have a whole regiment of additional cleaning that you plan on accomplishing. For some reason, spring is the time to do that deep clean in your home. It may have something to do with the fact that a deep clean was necessary back in the day. Back in the day, people could only heat their house by burning wood and doing their best to keep the heat from escaping. This practice made it to where removing the soot and opening up the house for fresh air was a necessary thing each spring season. Now, in keeping with that tradition, a lot of people still do a vigorous cleaning of their homes when this time of the year comes around. 

My Traditions for Spring

One of my traditions is to get my boat ready to take out to the lake. Before I digress too much and talk about fishing for too long, another tradition for me is to try and rearrange the furniture in most of my house. I'm not sure why, but it really just makes me feel accomplished. What's funny about moving the furniture around like that is that for the first few days, for a few moments, I feel like I have stepped into a stranger's room. On the other hand, actually picking up my furniture gives me a good chance to dust the underneath and get s good look at the condition of what I am moving. Sometimes, but not often, I realize that I need to replace a piece of furniture that is old and wearing out.

Spring Has Sprung - More Time Outdoors

Longer Days and Warmer Weather This winter has had its ups and downs. Just when you think it was over, here came another week or more of cold weather. I guess winter just wasn't ready to loosen its icy grip just because an underground dwelling rodent said it was time. While the groundhog was a little off with his prognosticating this year, spring seems to have finally come. All in all, I bet a lot of people are happy about this change of season.  Not to be a stick in the mud, but spring coming is always a mixed bag for me. I do enjoy the milder weather, but I seriously could do without all the allergies.
