Spring Has Sprung - More Time Outdoors

Longer Days and Warmer Weather

This winter has had its ups and downs. Just when you think it was over, here came another week or more of cold weather. I guess winter just wasn't ready to loosen its icy grip just because an underground dwelling rodent said it was time. While the groundhog was a little off with his prognosticating this year, spring seems to have finally come. All in all, I bet a lot of people are happy about this change of season. 

Not to be a stick in the mud, but spring coming is always a mixed bag for me. I do enjoy the milder weather, but I seriously could do without all the allergies. I am sure the over-the-counter allergy medicine companies are happy for my patronage, I feel like I have to make a personal budget just for nasal sprays and pills. I look at other people who aren't allergic to grass and wonder what it feels like to be able to mow your own yard without wearing a respirator. 

Outdoor Furniture

Some days can be worse than others, but with a little bit of Claratin and some Flonase, I can usually hack it outdoors with minimal discomfort. So it was on this past Easter Sunday where I watched as the kids in my family hunted for their eggs.  This is where I count myself as a lucky person. I have known people that have allergies that are much more severe than mine and require appropriate remedies. 

You might be wondering what all of this has to do with outdoor furniture sets. Well, as I was watching the festivities while sitting on the steps of the back porch, I realized that my parents don't have many places to sit. They have a sizable back porch area, but only a few chairs. Because of that fact, we just carry folding chairs outside or sit on the concrete.
