I'm not going to lie, when I was young and just starting out, I would buy or scavenge whatever I could find to furnish my apartment. As I got older and started to make a little bit more money, I began replacing my furniture items in my home one piece at a time. By the time I had my entire place full with the items I felt like I needed, I realized it was an eclectic mess. None of my furniture matched since sometimes it was a couple of years between when I would purchase an item.  A red sofa and a green recliner made it feel like I was trying to have Christmas year round. 

Now, in the present, I have replaced the kaleidoscope of colors in my house with sets of matching furniture. I have never been one for aesthetics, obviously, but I have to say that there is a certain feeling that comes from a home where everything matches and you have the decor to go with it. It makes decorating and painting much easier when your furniture matches. If you are going for a theme for a room, you pretty much have to find the perfect furniture to complete your vision. While it may not be the easiest thing to do, finding a furniture set that goes with that overall theme will take a lot of leg work out of gathering all the necessary items.

Spring Has Sprung - More Time Outdoors

Longer Days and Warmer Weather This winter has had its ups and downs. Just when you think it was over, here came another week or more of cold weather. I guess winter just wasn't ready to loosen its icy grip just because an underground dwelling rodent said it was time. While the groundhog was a little off with his prognosticating this year, spring seems to have finally come. All in all, I bet a lot of people are happy about this change of season.  Not to be a stick in the mud, but spring coming is always a mixed bag for me. I do enjoy the milder weather, but I seriously could do without all the allergies. I am sure the over-the-counter allergy medicine companies are happy for my patronage, I feel like I have to make a personal budget just for nasal sprays and pills.
