Do You Have an Extra Room in Your Home?

Clovis Furniture Store - Back to School

That time is upon us and some parents may be giddy with joy and others (who may have never sent a child to school) may be apprehensive. For me, it is a bittersweet time. I am lucky enough that my line of work allows me to work from home and spend the summer with my two girls. The bitter part is that we can be around each other and do fun things all summer long and suddenly that stops as they are off to another year of school. The sweet part is that I am no longer having to mediate fights, pick up trash and clutter, and listen to kids cartoons while I try to work. Seriously, have you watched any of the shows they call kids' programming these days?!? Something about a princess this and a ladybug that... mind-numbing. All-in-all it has its ups and downs working from home.

The Spare Room

In our house, we have a spare room that is slowly becoming a storage room. Technically, it is dubbed a craft room, however, it is being overtaken by what I would consider clutter and junk. Anything from old clothes and toys to old costumes and flat out brick-a-brack gets tossed in there. I used to go in unannounced and start bagging things up to donate or throw away each school year. After a few choice meltdowns over tossed sentimental items, I give them a warning that I will be going in and culling the mess. During the school year, the spare room looks more like a craft room and less like a medieval midden heap. Eventually, I want to turn it into an aquarium room. But that is a dream for a few years from now.
