King and Queen Bed - What's the Difference?

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between a king and queen-sized bed? I know it's obvious that one is bigger than the other but have you actually ever taken the time to find out the difference? If you haven't ever checked, then wonder no more; it's 16 inches. Less than one and a half feet is what makes a queen or king bed. Both are 80 inches long, but a king-sized bed is 76 inches wide and a queen-sized bed is 60 inches wide. In the grand scheme of things, that really isn't that much. However, if you have a partner that is highly active in their sleep, then that one foot and four inches may be the difference in good and bad rest.

To get good rest, you need to get a recommended amount on a nightly basis to keep your circadian rhythm going strong. While the hours needed may change depending on your age, one thing stays the same; you need to get quality rest. You can sleep all day but if your body isn't processing through the sleep cycles properly, you will not feel fully rested. A lot of factors can affect your quality of rest including your bed's positioning and mattress. Other factors include lighting, temperature, diet, and stress levels.

Try as you might to moderate all these factors and get good rest, it will all hinge on the quality of your bed frame and mattress. If you have a noisy, old squeaky frame your mind may be drawn from deep sleep prematurely. A lumpy and worn-out mattress is not going to help you at all either.
