Do You Have Enough Room?

One thing I have noticed as I have lived through more and more holiday seasons is that families grow pretty fast. You may go to someone else's house to gather for Thanksgiving or Christmas, so, for you, this isn't that big of a concern. However, if you host the gathering or if you have ever been to one that doesn't have quite the capacity needed to seat all the guests, you know how stressful things can get. 

How many times have you had to sit at the 'kids' table as an adult? For some, there may be no greater indignity than to have to sit with a bunch of nieces, nephews, or young cousins. You sit there, making longing glances at your erstwhile place next to the rest of the adults. Perhaps you really don't care, and this is an excuse to eat as much as you want without seeing the judgemental faces of your peers as you return with the third helping of your aunt's ambrosia salad.  I have actually been through both of those phases in my life. As a teen, I could think of no greater indignity than to be banished to the kids' table. I don't really care now since most of the youngsters in my family are too busy staring at screens. Although I do have one nephew, who will talk at length about whatever TV series or video game, he is in the middle of playing. All in all, the holidays are more about coming together no matter where you are sitting.

No matter what your traditions are for the holidays, it is never a good thing if everyone has to separate to different rooms to be able to sit and enjoy a meal. The past couple of years in my house, we have had to do that exact thing since I didn't have enough room. Spring Has Sprung - More Time Outdoors

Longer Days and Warmer Weather This winter has had its ups and downs. Just when you think it was over, here came another week or more of cold weather. I guess winter just wasn't ready to loosen its icy grip just because an underground dwelling rodent said it was time.
